I remember reading many years ago, we have three images of ourselves:
How we view ourselves, how we think others see us and the way we actually are.
How we think others see us can influence the other two and lead to limitations such as imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, social anxiety and greatly impact our experiences within our life.
So what are limiting beliefs exactly & Where do they come from?
We all have experiences from we are very small, this is how we learn. Sometimes these can be scary for a small child and as such they are stored in our unconscious mind, so we can avoid similar experiences. The problem is that our unconscious mind responds to the triggers with the same emotion we had when we were a small child. We all have these experiences and we all need to update the information in our unconscious mind. I call all of these experiences mini traumas.
If we hear others make negative comments about us, we can believe them, such as we are not good enough, we are not smart enough, not beautiful enough, too fat, too tall or too small. Others can have a major influence on how we see ourselves.
The really interesting thing is that others who react negatively to us tend to be projecting their insecurity onto us. Why would you take that? Now is the time to give it back.
In my work, there is no judgement and no criticism, we simply stop letting other people’s beliefs and values define who we are.
This is where my Reset Technique works so quickly and effectively. It is not necessary to discuss anything in detail, so you will not experience intense emotion. It will feel very calm and you will wonder why you didn’t do this earlier.
Often individuals feel they can’t change, this is part of the limiting belief system you have been conditioned with. If it has been learned, it can be unlearned, as long as you want to make the changes and are prepared to follow it through. A couple of appointments leave most in a place where they can continue on their own, only coming back if something else pops up.
